I think it's pretty much canon that Luci is a happy, go lucky drunk and a moody grouch when he's sober, if 1x02 was anything to go on. Best to keep him boozed.

I love that idea! And Lucifer would probably play along (no pun intended) since it would suit him and also fulfill his obligation to the hotel? He's big on paying his debts after all.
