Hmmmm ... now I have to think about it. Though they sound absolutely perfect for a darkish player plot of Opt-In proportions? A few get out, cause some havoc (shake up some CR/offer new avenues of CR) until Luci, Anton and whomever get the shadowmonsters corralled again? Unless you've already done a similar plot with them?

That's one thought ... will probably sit and consider more! But I think Luci would definitely be intrigued by what he sensed behind that door. Whether as a sense of "what are you" or "I really feel an urge to destroy each and every one of you" is hard to tell.
